Silver Purity Guide

Silver purity is measured in percentage. The higher the percentage, the purer the silver. Different purity levels are used for jewellery depending on durability, appearance, and everyday usability.

92.5% Pure Silver 7.5% Other metals

Sterling Silver (925)

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. This addition improves strength and durability while maintaining silver’s natural beauty.

  • STERLING SILVER (925)
  • 92.5% Pure Silver

The most commonly used silver standard in jewellery. The “925” stamp confirms its purity. It may tarnish over time but can be easily cleaned and restored.

99.9% Pure Silver 0.1% Other metals

99.9% Pure Silver

  • Fine Silver
  • 99.9% Pure Silver

Extremely pure silver with minimal alloy content. Softer than sterling silver and typically used for coins, bars, and investment purposes rather than daily-wear jewellery.

Caring for Sterling Silver

Store silver jewellery in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity. Use anti-tarnish strips or bags. Clean with a silver polishing cloth. Avoid chemicals like chlorine, bleach, and sulphur. Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, or using household cleaners.
